America Is In A Constitutional Crisis With No Endgame. Now What?

by Shelton Bumgarner

Holy shit. Oh my God. The president of the United States is so self-evidently unhinged that I don’t quite know what to say. I mean, what he did in the last few days, much less last 13 or so days is simply extraordinary, unprecedented. I can barely articulate the level of embarrassment that Donald Trump has brought upon the United States tonight.

First, a few days ago, he threatens to invade Mexico. Now, he has insulted one of our closest allies on the world stage, Australia.

All of this happens as it seems as though Russia may be on the cusp of a real land gab in Ukraine.

If this was any other nation but America, the American press would be hyping the fact that there was about to be an unexpected and abrupt change of government. This is all just batshit insane. In my life time, the only thing I can compare this to is when the proof of the blue dress with the semen stain on it came out on The Drudge Report. And this is just day 13 or so of Trump’s Administration.

This is supposed to be the honeymoon.

But we’re in an unprecedented Constitutional Crisis. There is no endgame because the Republicans are controlled by the 36% of the population who still support Trump. There are no easy answers. This could go on for a long, long, long, long time.

I just don’t know what to say. I have no idea how this will work out. None. I’m at a complete loss for words and the entire American political establishment is in chaos.

And, really, at this point, we’re at the mercy of Donald Trump’s madness. He is going to push us to the breaking point as a nation and I honestly don’t know what the result of that will be.

I am a total loss. It could go either way. Either we’ll enter some sort of weird dystopia or there will be something…uhhh….pretty wild in American history that will happen. What this is, I don’t know.
